As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental excellence, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu partnered with ITEAC to implement a state-of-the-art Online Industry Emission and Effluent Monitoring System. This milestone project delivers a fully integrated, real-time monitoring infrastructure designed to enhance regulatory compliance, operational transparency, and sustainability performance across industrial sites.
The project centers around the deployment of a PC-based Multiparameter Site Data Acquisition System (SDAS), also known as a Site Environmental Monitoring System (SEMS). Built on ITEAC’s advanced SAM-WI/SAMWEX platform, this solution enables the precise measurement and collection of emissions data from all key sources within the plant. The system comes complete with all required hardware, software, and protected licensing to ensure secure, uninterrupted operation.
A key feature of the implementation is seamless integration with existing plant infrastructure through WEX OPC, which allows for direct connectivity with the plant’s Distributed Control System (DCS). This ensures that environmental monitoring is synchronized with real-time process operations, enabling smarter decision-making and immediate corrective action when needed.
To centralize data handling and analysis, the project includes a comprehensive Central Data Acquisition System (CDAS) or RC Environmental Monitoring System (RCEMS). This backend framework consolidates field data, facilitates trend analysis, and supports environmental reporting in alignment with national and international regulatory standards.
Additionally, the system is powered by XR Premium (or WEX-QAL3) software — a globally recognized platform for environmental monitoring control. Acting as the “control tower,” XR centralizes all data streams, offering engineers and environmental specialists a robust suite of analysis, visualization, and reporting tools. This software is the result of years of research and development, now standing among the most advanced environmental monitoring solutions on the global market.
ITEAC’s project delivery also included detailed documentation, software licensing, equipment calibration, and user training to ensure long-term success and client independence in system management. The deployment adhered to all necessary compliance protocols, with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and user-friendliness.
By delivering this turnkey environmental monitoring solution, ITEAC helped the Royal Commission take a significant step forward in environmental accountability and digital transformation. The project not only enhances environmental visibility and control but also positions the Royal Commission as a regional leader in sustainable industrial oversight.
